French Guiana Travel Guide

Placed in the northeast of the continent the American South, between Surinam and Brazil, Guyana extends over 91 000 km ².

The coastal band goes along the Atlantic Ocean on 350 kilometers. We find the municipalities of Cayenne, Rémire-Montjoly, Matoury, Macouria, Kourou, Sinnamary, Iracoubo, Mana and Awala-yalimapo there.

On the West, separating Guyana of Surinam, the natural boundary is the river Maroni, marked out by the municipalities of Saint Lawrence of Maroni, Apatou, Grand-Santi, Papaïchton and Maripasoula.

In the East, the River Oyapock separates Guyana of Brazil and sprays the municipalitie of Camopi, Saint Georges de l' Oyapock, Ouanary, Régina, Kaw, Roura, Cocoa.

Almost in the center, the municipalities of Saint Elie, and Saul. In the South, the Amazonian forest the only ways of penetration of which are rivers and streams which constitute a very dense river system.
