Venezuela Travel Guide

Venezuela is a country of South America, lined in the North by the Caribbean Sea, in the northeast by the Atlantic Ocean, in the East by Guyana, in the South by leBrésil, and in the southwest and on the West by Colombia.
Among about 70 islands in the wide which belong in Venezuela, Margarita is the biggest and the most important. The total surface of Venezuela is 912 050 km2. The capital and more big city of the country is Caracas.
Venezuela consists of four different geographical regions. In the northwest and in the North are the high Venezuelan lands, which include the highest point of the country, the peak Bolívar (5007 m) in the chain of Mérida.
On the West of this mountain range is a vast depression, with hills and low trays including the lake Maracaibo which is connected in the gulf of Venezuela. Llanos, a region of alluvial plains, is in the central north region; it is a zone little convenient to the agriculture except the breeding of the cattle) and little populated.
Finally, the massif of Guyana, which reaches heights of more than 2 700 m, extends in the southeast and the South; it includes the chains of the sierra Parima and the sierra Pacaraima, which constitute a part of the border with Brazil.

The coastal part of Llanos extends to the Atlantic Ocean and is sprayed by the river Orénoque, the hydrographic axis of the country, which extends over 2 360 km and which drains approximately four fifth of the total surface of the country.Its tributaries cross all the territory: Checks it, the río Meta and the río Negro. The falls of the Angel (Somersault del Angel), one of the waterfalls the most important for the world, are in the oriental part of the high lands.

The climate of Venezuela is tropical in Llanos and in border of the coast, and moderated by the height in the mountainous regions. The average temperatures in Caracas and Maracaibo achieves respectively 18°C and 27°C in January, and 21°C and 29°C in July.
